The Wakefield Community Redevelopment Authority is conducting a housing survey to assist in the completion of the 2021 City of Wakefield Housing Study. If you live or work in the community, you are encouraged to complete the survey. The information gathered will be valuable in the future development of our community. Surveys are available online or can be picked up at the City office.

Citizen Housing Survey

In 2007, the residents of Wakefield approved a 1% local sales tax by a 2 to 1 margin. This meant that eligible sales would be taxed at 6.5% vs. Nebraska’s state sales tax rate of 5.5%. The tax was implemented Oct. 1, 2007 and expires Oct. 1, 2022. The primary purpose of the tax was for economic development activities including funding for a new swimming pool.  Read more here!

The City of Wakefield’s Annual Occupation Tax Report for Fiscal Year ending 9/30/20 is now available for review. Occupation Tax Report
